RENE'S FISHING BOAT
PROJECT OVERVIEW
To bolster community resilience and support local livelihoods, RISE GRENADA commissioned the construction of a fishing boat for Rene Isaac, a local fisherman and DJ in Carriacou. Rene, along with many other local fishermen, lost his boat during Hurricane Beryl. He is a vital part of the community, known for supplying fresh fish, lobster, and vegetables to those anchored in the area’s various anchorages. The materials needed for this project were generously transported from Grenada to Carriacou by Danny Donelan on Saavy Sailing, highlighting the collaborative spirit of our efforts. This project provides multifaceted support by creating work for a local shipwright, getting a fisherman back to work, and boosting the local supply of food. By investing in Rene's new fishing boat, we are helping to strengthen the local economy and ensure food security for the entire community.
While this project is a step forward, there are still many more opportunities to assist those in need and restore livelihoods across the islands. Your ongoing support is essential to sustain and expand these efforts, helping more people like Rene continue their important work.
Join us in this crucial mission. Your donations and support are vital for the continuation of our relief efforts.
